Summer Session 2013 (June 21 through August 30, 2013)
Entry Fee
$45 for the session (includes both tournaments and Simul). Or, $40 for the Big Dogs and Porch Dogs; $25 for the Simul; and $35 for the Return to Endor, 30 Years On.
All fees $5 less for La Palma residents.

Tournament Details
Big Dogs and Porch Dogs
A 5–round Swiss in two sections.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Sections:
The Big Dogs: 10 highest rated players plus any additional late entrants whose ratings are in this bracket.
The Porch Dogs: all others.
Prizes, both sections:
1st. place, $75;
2nd. place, $30
Best Game, either section: $20
Largest rating gain Porch Dog Section: $20
Time control: Game/120, d/5
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
IM Jack Peters Simultaneous Exhibition and Lecture
International Master Jack Peters will give a lecture on chess, and then
simultaneously play all challengers, up to a limit of 35 players. Anyone who
wins or draws his or her game against IM Peters will win a special prize.
Return to Endor, 30 Years On
5–round Swiss in one section, for the 30th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi.
Registration: 6-7 p.m. Rounds start at 7 p.m.
Prizes, both sections:
1st. place: $50
2nd. place: $30
Luke Skywalker Award: $20 (biggest rating gain)
Death Star Breaker: $20 (best game prize as judged by IM Peters)
Jabba The Hutt: Special prizes for smothered mates
The Pit of Carkoon: Special prize for most gruesome win
Time control: Game/120, d/5
Byes: One half-point bye may be taken. An irrevocable last round half-point bye is allowed only if declared before the first round starts.
